With the rise of technology in the modern world, CILL is becoming increasingly popular in modern English teaching. Recently, I know about a technology called Nearpod, which is popular in the United Kingdom to some extent. Over 40,000 British teachers use Nearpod to make the lessons interactive and engaging.

Nearpod is a platform that allows teachers to create interactive and multimedia lessons. It features a range of interactive tools, such as quizzes, polls, and open-ended questions. Moreover, it includes a library of ready-made lessons, covering a wide range of topics, which can be easily customized and used into your lessons.

It needs time for stuents to adapt to the new tool. More importantly, many schools in China do not allow students to bring electronic devices.

ReplyDeleteIt's great pleasure to read your blog and learn how to incorporate technology in the classroom. I agree with what you have mentioned in the blog that Nearpod is not suitable for poor area. In addition, I also think it is not appropriate for a large number of students in a class.
Your blog is very useful for me to have a brief understanding of the tool, but I guess it would be better if you can add more detailed explanation of limitations by combining your own experience.
Thank you for sharing, Runping! Nearpod is also one of my favourites and most used app in the classroom, and I agree with you about it being a powerful and convenient tool to encourage students to engage more in the class. It has many unique benefits and does have some limitations, and I think perhaps you could have introduced it with a little bit of your own experience and ideas to give a more practical experience to those who don't know it!
